William John Coffee, 1773-c1846, modeller, sculptor, painter and ornamentalist [manuscript] : his career in America, 1817-c1846, 1993.

Coffee, an English sculptor who emigrated to the United States, was twice a guest of Thomas Jefferson at Monticello and modelled busts of Jefferson and his family, James and Dolley Madison, and several members of the Coles family. Additionally he helped Jefferson repair cisterns and cleaned paintings at Monticello, and did ornamental work at Poplar Forest and the University of Virginia.
